Clara pushed open the doors to the dark old theater. It was abandoned now but in it’s prime it welcomed glittering crowds to ballets and operas. She dusted the snow from her shoulders as she stepped inside shutting out the sounds of traffic and bell ringers.
She really did love Christmas time, something about it made her child’s heart flutter with glee. The snow, the decorations, the music, she just could not help herself, there was something so magical about it all.
Tiptoeing through the wings she peered onto the stage. Who had danced there? What grand diva had sung? She wished she could have seen… maybe… she thought, this could be a place for me to stay. And if she were going to stay, she might as well get comfortable.
She raised en pointe and leapt onto the stage. Her imagination filled the space with a hushed and reverent crowd, she graced them with a bow… then from the doors a sound.
She snapped upright, the crowd gone in an instant.
"Hello?" she called "Hello?"
